I Hate the Internet

I just finished my first of three midterms, so I think I am allowed to actually dabble around the internet now. Not that I wasn't in between sentences of reading my chemistry book and in between chemistry problems. I hate the internet. It prevents me from being productive. Correction, it prevents me from being effectively productive. I like reading fashion blogs and sometimes I get so hooked that I end up sitting for hours going through archives ooh-ing and ahh-ing. And then I'll see something I like which leads me to my second I hate the internet reason: I can't stop (pretend) online shopping! That in turn lead me to staying up till 3 in the morning for that past two nights while studying. At least I found some cool stuff...
Antik Batik embellished draped wool dress, Camilla Skovgaard satin chain-embellished sandals, Bottega Veneta Intreccatio-effect ring, and of course, Bottega Veneta stud-embellished Intreccatio clutch. I like the juxtaposition of hard and soft (that's what she said?), feminine, yet edgy, etc. etc. because that pretty much embodies who I am. I love metal, but I'm not some crazy Goth-ed out chick, and tossing little metal elements in here and there. The shoes (and I guess the ring) balance out the super girly-ness of the dress and clutch.
Okay, not going to lie, I'm picking all these outfits out based on the clutches. I don't know why, but I tend to gravitate towards purses when I browse online. You can never have too many! Well, you can never have too many clothes, shoes, or purses... Anyway, my main point was I pick outfits around bags. Clicking through Barney's, I found this Derek Lam Elsa python clutch, and it practically stopped my heart. The scales absolutely pop. I love the asymmetrical design of the clutch. And I don't really like yellow, but the color looks absolutely amazing on the Elsa python. There's a black python version as well, but the color didn't do justice for the skin. The clutch is paired with an Herve Leger dress, Christian Louboutins, and Oscar de la Renta earrings.

THE COOLEST THING EVER!!!

I've been listening to this band, Disparaged, a lot lately. And by a lot I mean, nonstop on my MP3 player and laptop. They're so rad. Their latest album, "Wrath of God", sounds like what Bloodbath tried to do with the "Fathomless Mastery" mixed with some Amon Amarth-ish sounds here and there. Needless to say, I am in love.
I woke up in a fairly terrible mood today and I went to school. I came back and logged onto MySpace to a barrage of comments. MySpace is a cyber-shithole and hasn't been working at all lately, hence the many comments. One of them was from Disparaged. I couldn't see it because it contained HTML, but I clicked approve anyway, assuming that it was just some promotional stuff. Doesn't matter too much to me. Then I clicked on my comments page so I could respond to everyone, and I saw Disparaged's comment.

For once, it wasn't JUST a thanks for the add and banner and link... THEY COMMENTED ON MY YEARBOOK PHOTO!!! THEY COMMENTED ON MY YEARBOOK PHOTO!!! THEY COMMENTED ON MY YEARBOOK PHOTO!!! I KNEW that that photo would bring me some good some day. And that has made my entire day.

Here it is again.

Wolverine

I saw it today and it was really cool! I don't know the back story or anything about it, but my friends dragged me along to see it. I liked it a lot! I probably wouldn't have liked it if I actually knew it, but who cares! Hugh Jackman is in it, NAKED. Mmmm. So sexy. Tyler Kitsch is in it. Very cute, and Penn Badgley-ish. Ryan Reynolds is in it. Totally cute. Dominic Monahagan is in it. Love him and his cute accent. Lots of nifty cool mutant powers that I wish I could have. Oh, and did I mention Hugh Jackman NAKED??? Yesss. The movie was cool. I did not expect it to be so.
Today, I also got awkwardly hit on by a high school gaming nerd. Mind you, not your typical gamer though. He was one of those socially inept, but tries really hard, but can't really win at life because he plays Dungeons & Dragons and Warhammer type things and loves them. It was reaaaally awkward. And semi-funny.
I also scarfed down a delicious burger in five minutes so we could run to the movie theatre because my friends decided to spend forty minutes in the D&D/Warhammer/nerd games store.
I played Lord of the Rings: Return of the King with Dave and I realized that my skills have gone to shit. I used to be really good at this game. Now, I'm not. I also watched "Borat" and I fell asleep about fifteen minutes in.
ALSO, my parents got me a MINIFRIDGE, so I went grocery shopping to stock up on food that people will never eat again because it is LOCKED UP, safe in my room.
YAY!

Life Right Now

Chemistry is raping me intensely. I do not enjoy it. What the hell are s-orbitals, p-orbitals, d-orbitals, f-orbitals, and g-orbitals? How do you draw them and why do they look like obnoxious bubbles? What do the little xyz things mean? Stuff like that. I just finished my chemistry homework, and it stuck baseball-sized anal beads up my ass and pulled them out excruciatingly painfully. Awesome. It is now 3AM and my sleep schedule is beyond fucked. Also, my chem lab isn't too bad, but people are kind of stupid. Myself, included at times. I, however, am capable of doing my calculations properly, thus not fucking over the group I work with. Also, good thing my lab partner is a near genius (well, at least in relation to me and chemistry) and can answer all idiotic questions I have on those little measuring thingies with like two rulers, kind of like one of those scales at the doctor's office, I don't remember what its called, and pycnometry, and any other nonsense Randa Roland/Ryan Garcia tosses our way. Lab is time consuming though, and that equates to rape of my day. Chemistry = rape.
Calculus is not raping me... yet? I still have one section of calc homework to do, but I figure that I can figure it out sometime between 12:10PM and 5:00PM when it is due. Yes. My professor wears the same outfit everyday and my friends talk entirely too much. It is difficult to pay attention in class when the people next to you are talking about cocks and balls, and I am pondering fashion choices. Homework is kind of long though. This could possibly be implications of rape in the future.
Music from Latin America is the worst class on the face of the planet. I have not done any of the ~200 page readings that he restates in class. Today, my professor had a medical emergency, so instead we watched a documentary on Brazilian spirit possession. The only thing that possessed me was sleep, but it was semi-difficult because of the crazed whoops and "possessed" people spazzing out on screen. Cool. Not really.
Volleyball is semi-raping me, but only because I play a lot of it which leaves less time to devote to above three classes+lab. I don't have much else to say about this. I do love volleyball though!

Okay, now I need to go to sleep.

An Update!

School is starting to pick up pace again, so I figured I would blog while I still have the time & catch up on trivial things that I need to do.

Classes are alright. I'm not taking anything too enjoyable other than volleyball which doesn't even count as a class because I don't get credit or a grade for it. So sad :(

Chemistry is looking like it's going to be a HUGE pain in the ass, but I'm ready to fight it. Also, did I mention that I got an A in chem last quarter? I found out the Sunday that I got back. Anyway, the professor is kind of kooky. He reminds me of a crazy grandfather with a microphone embedded in him. Seriously, this man is loud. And he loves his chemistry.

Calculus is probably going to be a pain in the ass too. The professor sort of looks like a younger Rufus Humphrey. I AM NOT EVEN KIDDING. He talks a lot, probably too much. Today we started a review session and we only got through TWO problems in one hour. Might I add they were also fairly easy problems involving circles and lines tangent to them and inequalities? One hour. Even the fact that he looks like a younger Rufus Humphrey doesn't excuse that!

Also three of my volleyball friends are in the above two classes and they get really annoying because they talk a lot and I can't pay attention. Not conducive to being Asian. :(

Music in Latin America is going to be stupid. I am taking this class pass/no pass for my own good. There's one midterm and one final, and that's it. The professor is a bit of a pompous dick. He also made us purchase a book that HE wrote for the class. It's an $80 textbook. And he wants us to purchase the CD. The CD is $50. It's ridiculous. I learned an awesome Latin American music lullaby. It involves making your lips wiggle/flap so that you let out that horse-y snorting noise and then humming at the same time. I'm not kidding. :( This class is going to suck.

Volleyball is pretty cool. I'm not enrolled in the class, but I am going to be. AND I'M PRACTICING/DRILLING WITH THE TEAM DURING CLASS. So excited :) It's going to be awesome. It's going to be like volleyball e'reday this quarter. Okay, maybe not every day, but close to every other day with a lot of days being double days for volleyball. Woo volleyball class and then either intramural volleyball or open gym. It should be awesome and volleyball-filled. Speaking of which, I played four hours-ish of volleyball yesterday and I am very tired and sore. I jammed my thumb, my knees are completely bruised, and my shoulder hurts. AWESOME. I love it.

And that's pretty much it. Oh, and I'm also cooking for myself more & utilizing the dining hall less. Kind of cool. I need to learn how to cook good.

Probably the coolest thing I have seen all day!

This totally makes me miss those good old band days with Mr. Bob Lipton! And playing trombone and being awesome.

Also, can I just say that I'm really bad at studying & really good at procrastinating?
And I LOVE Disney musicals.
